what do u guys think my d15 is capable of doing its from the cx hatchback and seems pretty quick your think its a good engine to lets say drop 1500 down on aftermarket parts for? im open for suggestions thanks.

The D15 from your CX really has no potential. It only has 8 valves and you can't fit a golfball in the intake manifold.

I'd say swap it out for a D16Z6 for way less than $1500, to get more potential. Hell, for $1500, you could almost get a B16 and more definitely a B18B.

 

How much labor cost?

d15 is a 1.5 cant really expect much from it

 

You have a ton of options depending on what your goals are.

If you want to keep your d15 you need to change out the head tranny and computer which would give you a mini me.

Then you have your sohc swaps. You could go with a d16z6 or a jdm d15b (a bit more responsive then the z6).

Most dohc swaps are going to cost you more then $1500.

 

my buddy will do an engine swap for 500$ (labor) lets say i had 2k to spend on a engine that includes everything it needs to get it up and running (and i mean everything) what could i expect from that budget i saw a moter on some website hmoter.com (sorry if i got it wrong) well sall a b16 for 999.99 and its DOHC is that good considering it comes with almost everything i need to do the swap?

 

oh sorry forgot to mention phyzJunkieCivic the engine has 70k miles the dude that had it never took it out always had it there for a "just in case" car

From were i live i can get a legit ls for 400 complete swap. Since your singlecam has less milage i was put a singlecam vtec head an ex tranny and a singlecam vtec ecu for now. Or also you can juice the motor.

 

But when it comes to 1500 i will just hunt for a dohc.

$1500 might get you an LS motor if your lucky....but if you don't know how to do it yourself then it's gonna cost more.

I wouldn't waste money on the cx motor.

a b20 would be a fun stock motor, and it has some potential. Torque FTW

2300 is good.

What's your budget? goals?

If it were me though, In theory I'd swap in a b18b and boost it later. Make sure to pair it with a b16 or gsr tranny.
