Default HOW TO: Get 47 MPG Out of your Honda Fit

This came into my work today for a state inspection. At first glance it looked like a Bonneville salt flats racecar. But then I realized it was one of our own...a Fit

Custom riveted under body armor

Upon further inspection

All that custom modification for this (some sort of metering device plugged into the DLC)...

...and this (for covering the exhaust system and fuel lines)

That gauge reads MILES PER HOUR AVG not MILES PER GALLON.

Is this some sort of coincidence?

for better aerodynamics.... less wind resistance = less power to move the car = better MPG

they don't have flat under chassis, they have aero tuned underchassis to get more downforce.

the biggest piece of spoiler on a f1 car is the underbody(not the front or rear ricer wing)

ricer wing

adding more thermo capacityto the filter shell i guess, plus the fin is for additional air flow cooling. not really sure it's required since there's a water jacker thing for most honda
