Default Buy My Old ITR from Schaumburg Toyota

Yes, they are going to rip you off but oh well, to some buying from a dealer is the ONLY option. FYI, I sold my car outright to them for $19.5K, which is great considering it had 39,650 miles on it.

Schaumburg Toyota is in Schaumburg, IL, about 20 miles west of Chicago. I would love the car to go to an enthusiast rather than some stunna, but it will probably go to a stunna with $$.

My wife called them yesterday to ask how much they were selling it for. First, the dealer told her $23K, then said..umm..well..between 21 and 23K. Nuts.

yep, I know exactly where that dealership is. So you didn't trade it in for anything? When I was in the market for a car, they had some 'Certified' Toyota Supras for sale. The only problem was the Turbo was automatic

Yeah, I live just a mile down the street from them. Right by Woodfield Acura too. In any case, no, I didnt trade in anything, I sold it outright. They didnt blink and handed me over the money...they know they will find some gump to sell it to for a lot of $$.

They dont have any supras now but I am sure any "certified" supras they get will be bank.

Advertising it here will probably get it stolen before it sells. Sorry, but that's just the way this is going these days. Police need to lose the 'bomb squad' tactical team and get a car theft team started.

The same car in NC at Infiniti dealership with same miles they offered only 14k which I turned down. Just for comparison. I would have let mine go in a minute for 19.5k. Good deal for you .

When you went there, were you thinking of buying a car from them? you've got me thinking...I've got a 2000 ITR, 30K miles + extended warranty.

What made you go to the BMW side? Torque, RWD, other?

No, I had already bought a new car before I sold the R to them. They knew I wasnt looking at a trade...just an outright sale. Your car is definitely worth more than mine! But, they like PY ITRs there the most..dont know if they would try to give a lower offer because of the color or not.

Umm..BMW side...well, the new car I got outperforms the R by far in every category, so I can't say it was torque or RWD or anything in particular. I wanted a car that was substantially faster than the R, 2 seater, new, could handle/brake as well or better than the R, and didn't come with the baggage the R comes with ("import scene", vandalism, theft, etc.). The car I got was a logical choice for what I wanted. Plus, while many hate the styling, I've loved it ever since seeing one in '98.

I'll be at Gingerman on July 1st (tentative but very likely) so hunt me down if you want to take a test lap or two.

As much as I hate car thieves, I think human life is worth much more to general society than a hunk of metal...cars are not a priority when you have such a large drug problem, domestics violence, and other aggravated crimes

What event is going on at Gingerman that day? Who's the sponsor? I wanted to go to SpeedtrialUSA's event the first week of June, but they cancelled.

I did a search on http://www.autotrader.com and saw this entry. Doesn't look to be yours, though, the mileage is low.

2000 Acura Integra
2000 Acura Integra Type "R", 5spd, cruise, pdl, tilt, pw, a/c, CD, ABS, alloys, 16k, spoiler, super sporty, $25,998; (877)869-5664 SCHAUMBURG TOYOTA
$25998

Cgimotorsports (http://www.cgimotorsport.com) has an HPDE on July 1st. Since I am usually in the "A" run group, it is a lot more fun and having only 10 other cars on the track at the same time is great, safety wise. Obviously there is some controversy surrounding them due to EXPO problems but I've been to 6+ events and had very positive experiences with Phil thus far.

They actually sold the R you listed. I belive they sold it at their asking price too! Crazy stunna kids!!

My car isnt listed yet. They just got it so they will probably list it this week.

Alright! I went over to that ****** dealer and the ******* told me that he wanted 24k for it and it was advertised for 26,9 over the phone. That son of a biznatch arabic dude was talkin all this crap saying stuff like " how much did you get your R for??" " i picked it up for 19,5 with only 17k on it" " well, these cars are hard to come by, Comon! Lets make something happen, Lets get you in that yellow Rocket and bring that baby home with you!" The car was actually for my friend, we ran around lookin at R's and that one wasn't that bad. He was shooting for the JDM front end so the really big ding on the front lip didn't matter. we wanted the car for 21,5 and he was like " no, we won't make anything off the car by selling it THAT low" so we knew that ****** was up to something. To damn Q#$*(&%@##)(%@#%'s over there suck! We ended up picking up this black R from this really cool guy out in the northern burbs and he took care of us. F*UCK Schaumburg Toyota. Bastards.

The sales manager there is named Saleem, and he has a decked out Supra TT, I believe. In any case, no need to bring the race card into the discussion...

F*UCK Schaumburg Toyota. Bastards.

Yeah, I agree that they make too much money on these cars. BUT, that is not their fault..that is the consumers'. They know that they can find some stunna that will pay top dollar for one, so why not maximize their profit. I HATE it when dealers mark **** up beyond reasonable, but it keeps them in business.
