Default is this right for my setup? (header)

so far i have AEM CAI, Apexi WS catback (2.25), 12lb flywheel and exedy stage 1 clutch. Im looking to complete the exhaust setup on a pretty tight budget and want to make sure im doing the right thing. i already got my Megan header and plan on modding the collector to 2.25 and getting a flexpipe from Kteller. im also gonna get a 2.25 HF cat from Kteller as well so everything from the header back is 2.25. getting rid of the WS and/or megan header are out of the question so am i doing the right thing? my car is a 96 w/ odb2 so do i need to convert to obd1 or just purchase an o2 bung from kteller as well?

you can stay obd2

I would go 2.5inch but whatever....if you already have the exhaust I guess stick w/2.25

i realize 2.5 is the optimal size for the collector but it would be a mistake to have a 2.5 collector into a 2.5 cat but then to my 2.25 piping, correct?

not so much a mistake as a drawback....it will run ok, just won't be at full potential, though I think it would make more power even that way over the 2.25.

It would require an adaptor to work though.

do what a lot of people have done to the megan headers - modify the collector to 2.5 and get a 2.5/2.5 cat and 2.5 exhaust.

I have a megan racing header going into 2.5 all the way back with no cat. Would making the downpipe 2.5 make that big of a difference? Thanks

ok maybe you guys didnt read my whole post...i said im not getting rid of the 2.25 apexi WS exhaust. it doesnt make since to go from 2.5 to 2.25 so wouldnt 2.25 all the way be better than that?

btw the apexi ws is not a 2.25 its 60mm or 2.36 and there are cats that have 2.5 inlets for the header and 2.36 for the exhaust and order the cat from dave (smsp) he's here on h-t, pm him and ask him as many questions as you'd like he know's tons about headers and exhaust!!! his h-t name is smsp.

i orderd the same thing 2.5 inlet to a 2.36 outlet cause thats what my header/exhaust size was back when i had my teg!!!

Hope that help a lot!!!

if not the op, you sure helped me a lot.

just pointing out though, since the ws2 bolts on to the stock cat, doesnt that mean the the flange is stock piping size, around 2" im thinking?
