car wont start

Default car wont start

whats up guys i need help asap, i was on my way 2 work yesturday the car started up just fine, about 5 mins driving on my way 2 work it just died. everything in the car was working fine when it happend and i barely noticed. i noticed when the rpms didnt move.so i pulled over and tried to start it back up again and it cranked but didnt start, i changed the cap and rotor and still no start any ideas

hmm im havin same issue with mine and my car is at honda but then the dealer ship dont even kno whats wrong ahaha it could b ur coils... sparkplug wires... or ur nigniton switch thats wat honda told me so i got em all stil my **** wont crank.. good luck if u find out whats wrong plz let me kno also

Stating the year of your car helps. Some models are more prone to certain problems. Anyway, my guess is the ignitor or coil in the distributor.

check ur timing belt. might be snapped.

My prelude did almost the exact same thing. It ended up being the ignition control module. Cost me a pretty penny. I might have gotten ripped off on the price by my car works fine now so I'm happy. By the way I have a 94 prelude si 2.3 non-vtec if that helps.

welli found out y my 98 prelude wont start if that helps my distibutor was friedv wich fried my ecu...

it was the timing belt, now should i just go n replace it or would it have done damage to the engine??

yeah knew it was likely the timing belt. if you did crank it alot since it wasn't starting. then more likely some valve may be bent. try putting on a new belt. if it doesnt feel like before then u got some bented valve.

i had the same problem, my tensioner went and it jump the timing. if i was you ill check the compression. if its all good then replace the belt and check the pulleys for any sharp ends and it might be a good time to change the tensioner so what happen to me wont happen to you. hope this helps.
