car noise....HELP
Hi All,
I need some help please. Everytime I drive over a pothole/bump or I put a lot of weight on my left rear quarter (by turning), I hear a "bonk" (that the technical term i guess). It sounds like a something snaps after you put a lot of stress on it.
could it be that a shock is blown??

This was happening to me last summer... I could also duplicate it by pushing/pulling on the spoiler when the hatch was shut thus "rocking" the back end of my car back and forth... A friend of mine sitting in the car could then hear the "bonk". Try adjusting/turning the little black, rubber tailgate stoppers (see #24 in pic) on each side that hold the trunk hatch "in place" until you cannot duplicate the sound anymore. That's what stopped it for me at least - and I had the same symptoms as you: it occurred over speed bumps, potholes, etc.
Yeah, I was freakin' out before I found out how easy it was to fix it, haha. Hope this helps!
