I could really use some help on this one. The sound is coming from the rear of my car, it's really bad in turns, but usually not there, but tonight, oh **** it was there the whole time i was driving. I have a stock sway bar on my 99 SI, skunk2 tie-bar, and koni yellows. This sound is like a metal on metal rubbing, it sounds like absolutle ****, any common thoughts, could it be my sway bar ? I looked and in the back, on the left side the endlink-rubber cover was torn off! but the sound is coming from the right side, which looks fine.........
any help would be appreciated, thanks

I would enlist in the aid of a friend, inside the car it is difficult to narrow down what region sounds echo from. If you believe it is definitely the right side I would focus all my efforts on checking everything suspension installed on that side of the car. Any paint missing from the sway bar, any possibility of the exhaust rubbing on the car or the brakes?

Have someone slowly drive the car for you into turns while you run behind it slowly or push it and listen for the problem.

thanks, and yea (although to adjust koni height) i ripped out the whole shock assembly the weekend, i guess now i'll take off the sway bar and see if that's it.....

Is your Muffler Bangin on your Sway bar or LCA? I belive or not had a rubber muffler hanger breake and got a metal to metal banging/vibrations sound when turning then it got worse whent he exhasu shifted, and it turned out to be the broken exhaust hanger.

There is a recall for this somewhere i believe... something about the LCA bushings or something...

when I heard a metallic rattling in my hatch from the same area it was my rear trailing-arm bushings. maybe check those out too. I replaced mine with Energy Suspension poly bushings.

heres my progress: I just removed the bar, drove around, the sound is still there, it remains unaffected, ear-shattering sound, and my exhaust hangers all look good....

You might want to check to make sure that you aren't hitting the bumpstop on that side.
