I think my Syncrowave crapped out....
I have a 180SD and in the middle of a weld it just turned off and now won't turn back on. Breaker did not pop and if I plug other equipment in to the same outlet the other equipment works. I'm going to call Miller later today and probably take it in on Saturday. Have any of you ever taken Miller stuff in under warranty? What was your experience? Does anyone have any ideas of stuff I could try to fix it on my own? I looked inside the machine and did not see an internal breaker or fuse.
BTW the welde is under two years old.

Well they have a 3 year warranty, and as long as the problem isn't duty cycle related they'll fix it for you. Miller tech support has always been great for me.
Ive had a problem with my Sync 180, and once they figured out what part was bad, they said it was easy enough for me to do myself, and next day aired me the part. When I got it, called the guy back, and he walked me through it step by step. Ive heard of this multiple times with Miller...

eventhough your problem wasn't related to Miller's product...I'll give my experience with their service.
My maxstar (about a year old) crapped out on me a couple weeks ago. I took it into my local dealer, and they shipped it off that night. 4 days later I got a call saying it was fixed, and ready to be picked up. Apparently the PC board fried, and had to be replaced. no questions, no $...they fixed it. They basiclly just look up the part # and go off of that to see what your warranty status is.
They get a 5 out of 5 stars from me. I just wish I knew what caused it to go out in the first place.

Mine broke down about 1 year after getting it (they replaced the main board that controls high frequency and what not)
it took them 8 weeks

Thats amazing. I'm sure there are multiple repair facilities, because I had exactly the opposite experience. hrm.
