97 Accord SE CLACKING SOUND UNDER ACCELERATION! WHY?
My 9y ACCORD SE with the F22B2 non V-TEC motor has a sound like the valves are out of adjustment. I just had them adjusted and it did not help.
The mechanic set the gap at the wide end of the clearance and it seems I should have them adjusted to the tight end of the range.
The sound is only during acceleration.
If I push on the gas it is there if I let up it is gone; even though, there is only a few hundred RPM change.
How do I found out what it is? I have searched through hundreds of posting here.
HELP me please.
Thank you, Lonn

</TD></TR></TABLE>I'd have put them in the middle of the acceptable range. Too tight or too loose, either way can cause problems.
However... Your noise sounds more like a small leak in the exhaust manifold gasket? Check that out.
