97 ek with gsr turbo. cylinder 3 and 4 not firing!!!!
i have a 97 civic ek and me and my brother just put a 98 gsr motor in there and cylinder 3 and 4 are not firing. when i scan for codes it comes up with p1399 and p0304. i no p0304 is cylinder 4 misfiring but it says nothing about cylinder 3. we no cylindre 3 is not firing because i change the plugs and wires and after starting it it still ran like crap. the motor was shaking and wouldnt idel at all. i had to hold the gas to keep the engine running. my boost gauge was bouncing vaccum up and down from 10 to 3 just hold the gas steady. also the breather on the top of the valve cover is suppose to be vaccum but air is coming out of it.. we checked the the plugs and cylinder 1 and 2 were black and 3 and 4 looked brand new still.. its getting fuel and spark because we checked. i dont no what it can be. i no before i rebuilt my motor one of my valves chipped so i changed it. i dont no if anything else happend to the head but its doing the same thing as when the valve went bad. we did a compression test on it and there all 200 and over.. if some one can please help me i dont no what else to do?
Unfortunately this could be alot of different things. What are you running for an ECU? Have you just been idling the car or did you take it out for a drive? What Injectors are you running?. Be more specific with the setup and I will try and help you out.

i have the 98 gsr ecu in there. im running rc 440 injectors. no i did not take it for a drive i just put the motor in and started it up but it wouldnt even idel i had to hold the gas down to keep it from dieing.
did u remap the ecu, if u didnt then that your problem. the stock ecu is calibrated for 240cc injectors and u r using 440cc. try putting in the stock injectors and see. if your running that rich then i wouldnt start the engine again until u get ecu chipped or get stock injectors because u run the risk of washing out the piston rings.
i had the ecu in my eg civic with the motor with the turbo running 5 psi and it ran perfect for a long time till i race my boy and when i was done it ran like crap. checked the oil and it was dry. and when i pulled the motor apart one of the pistons were cracked and a valve was chipped. but i have the air fuel tuned threw a apexi vafc2 so i no the motor runs good with the tune on the vafc. anything else?
Well what I can do for you is make you up a basemap very similar to your setup. I have plenty of tuned maps from cars Ive done very close to what you have. If you would like to try something out shoot me an e-mail. All contact info is in my sig. Your current chip most likely isnt working with ur setup.
