You do know that that is possibly one of the dumbest things to do to an intercooler? Air hitting directly on the fins and the metal of the intercooler as a whole is what cools the air charge. That, and you just made it easier for it to retain heat.

and when i get a better intercooler id have to scrub it all down forever to get paint off!! expletive that i can pull the tape off in like 3 seconds! way better. The fins are still wide open i didnt tape the fins!

Get the radiator paint.
Even a thin coat of regular flat black paint would look better and not have nearly the same insulating properties as 4 layers of pantyhose and duct tape.
