Default question about indash foldable lcd screen

I have everything hooked up with the indash the brain and a 10 disc dvd changer. everything powers up and works, the only problem that i have is the indash unit would not display anything. when i try to select the 1st aux whcih i plugged the dvd to the sreen it says screen off for your safety. im guessing this means that it does not turn on when driving so i wouldnt be destracted. i have a wire thats suppossed to be connected to the foot brake and another to the parking brake. i hooked up the parking brake one and it didnt even make any difference. i cannot find the switch to the foot brake. i wanna be able to have movies play while my car is driving. are there any thing else i can connect those 2 wires in my car to be able to always use it. i have a 97 honda accord ex. please help if you know anything and no opinions please on how i shouldnt be watching tv while driving blah blah. thanks in advance for the help

You guessed correctly. And no, you really shouldn't be watching tv/movies while driving.

However, if you're hell bent on wrecking your car or injuring or killing innocent people (or better yet, yourself) while you watch 2F2F or Initial D, you'll need to emulate the signals (12v & ground) that your video system needs to see before it turns the display on.

No. I won't contribute to you injuring or killing someone. Look up the definition of the word emulate and figure it out.

well alot of websites will not allow you to even talk about or post info that will break the law. This means giving away information about disableing the protection mode on your flipout unit. But since this is a old unit and you can really find this out easy on google. Look into some thing called a pac-tr-7. This is all the info I can give you and you are now on your own.

I personally think this is the direction Honda-Tech should go...

In this day & age with all of the lawsuit-happy people out there, it would be very easy for someone to say "I learned how to bypass the safety features on my unit from someone on Honda-Tech.com, your honor, and I followed those directions. That is why I crashed into the van on its way to soccer practice & killed those little kids".

I think this too. This will protect the site and user as well.

Because I sure as hell won't install it like that anymore. I allready got caught up in a case for remote start. And nearly one for mobile video. Out here in calie they are getting stricked as hell. They have to fix this messed up budget some how.

ok, just wondering form a legal/installer point of view, can you have them sign a waiver that says like for off road use only/ you wont be held responsible for the actions of the user?

I don't think so... But even if there was a waiver, there's still too much of a chance that there's a loophole that could be exploited...

Yes and no. I use to say it was for show purpose only. But if you looked at the car you knew it would never end up in a show. And what proof that it was in a show. I tried it that way and still almost lost a case. Thank god for lawyers. Not worth the money and time in court. Or the lose of life.

The info I gave you was no big secret. It can be pulled up on google. Thats the only reason I posted it. Not trying to be a dick. I have mobile video in my cars with headrest in some. If I want to watch tv i just put the dvd in a listen. I don't need the picture. But for a young rookie driver that just got there "L" it very dangerious. Even with out a tv. I was watching the news two days ago out here. 5 teens in whittier flying down the street in a civic crashed. 4 killed on cantact after hitting a tree. you could not even tell what kind of car it was. Now imagine if there was a tv installed

That might be hard to avoid, and I am not sure we want to be a party to this kind of thing.
