It won't add anything without tuning, and even then it won't add much with the stock cam.

Did you ever change your cam? If so, what do you think about the change?

I didn't notice any change at all. As a matter of fact, they didn't even adjust the damn thing. It's still sitting at 0 degrees! haha Although I think I got a crappy tune job, I mean hell, I can still run 87 octane fuel without pinging, after all the work I've done to this thing. After I installed the Gude Performance head package, I figured to get the most out of it, I'd have a Hondata chip installed. After installation of close to $3,000 worth of parts, I got a whopping 20 extra horse! WOW. The cam alone is supposed to give 20HP, not to mention the P/P Head, P/P Intake Manifold, big-bore TB, and spacer. I really need to get this thing re-tuned by a shop that works on Hondas. I think that the shop halfass de-tuned my car just in spite of the fact that it's an import! These guys only work on muscle cars usually, and will hardly give you the time of day of your car only has 4 cylinders.

So, in short, nope. It will do nothing for you unless you have it tuned after the adjustment. Even at that, don't expect anything you can feel. But the cam YES. Expect an awesome lumpy idle sound and great back massages while sitting still! Powerband also increases greatly in the mid-range as well as pushing the redline farther out.

i can only agree with half this statement.... yes u will get better mid range power, however, if your computer is still stock, and not chipped, your red line limit will stay the same. extending the redline is a software issue, not a hardware issue. and if chipped, the cam will def. help you out when extending the redline. valves, retainers, and springs will also be benificial.

Indeed.

you should have read up before buying that gude head package and people will tell you its not worth it.

the reason you aren't knocking on 87 octane after your mods is because you are still running a 8.8:1 Compression ratio.

The head was milled down to create an 11:1 compression ratio, hence the "High Compression Radius Cylinder" feature listed in the description. For an experiment, grab your compression tester and measure cylinder #1 @ 3 compression strokes and post the numbers for the stock head, and I'll do the same for the modified one. I'd be curious to find out.

I agree, don't put too much faith into that Gude head package. I have yet to see anyone real pleased with their products or prove their quoted power gains.

For me to believe in their head package I would need to see some proof on what they've done. Meaning... flow numbers, how much the head was milled, etc.

I don't mean to discredit you or anything, you're just going off what they say their products can do. I'm just saying to not trust their numbers until you verify it all.

BTW, this has gone off topic, back on topic

I'm not 100% on it, but I'm thinking that milling a head enough to raise compression from 8.8 to 11 is gonna put you past the service limit.

I doubt that it's milled that much

On an F22B2 with .010 milled off the head and .010 off the deck using a 2 layer head gasket and stock pistons it will yield an approximate CR of 9.8:1 or at least that is what the math says anyway. Now I'm not 100% on what the service limit is but my engine builder said .010 shouldn't pose any problems. Now to get 11 your going to have to take a lot more off both the head and the deck.
