coilover suspension for 2000 Accord
I'm considering a coilover suspension conversion kit for a 2000 Accord 4dr. I have 17s with a 45 series tire and a huge *** gap between the tire and wheel well. My question is, could I still use stock shocks for the kit? The particular kit will lower up to 4".
"Coilover suspension conversion kit"? Sounds like something off of eBay... But to answer your question, you could use stock struts, but I STRONGLY recommend against it. You'll blow the stock struts rather quickly and then you'll have to pull everything apart again to replace the struts. Get some quality struts to install the at the same time.
About this "coilover suspension conversion kit"... You might want to think twice about buying it. It sounds like another generic, cheaply-made sleeveover kit. The cons of these kits greatly outweigh the pros.

Thanks for the input, but it's a Skunk2 coilover conversion kit...not the complete suspension. It just includes the springs and adjustable sleeves. I'm also considering the Ground Control setup which just has different sleeves and springs. Should I just go for the full kit, struts and all and save the hassle that I may experience later?
Will your car ever see any track time, or is the car simply a daily driver?
The Skunk2 sleeveovers aren't that great either. If you really want to use a sleeveover, go with Ground Control. GC's are the ONLY sleeveovers that are worth the money. Either way, I highly recommend getting a nice set of struts, but stay away from anything that is simply an OEM replacement, such as the KYB GR-2s.
Your other option is to get an full coilover setup, like Tein, Tanabe, Omni, etc. I've heard very little about the full Skunk2 coilover setup, so I'd rather not comment on those. If you car is nothing but a daily driver (absolutely no track time), you'd probably like the Tein coilovers.
