Default Best Way to Build a Motor?

currently have a bone stock jdm itr in my civic. i plan on building it gradually. what is the best way of doing this?

1. leave the jdm itr engine alone and piece together a complete engine minus tranny to swap and sell the jdm itr in the end

2. buy a b16 head and send off for a complete pnp and the works and swap heads and sell the jdm itr head. this allows drivability of the car while the head is being worked on.

3. buy a ls block and have it sent out for the works and swap it

4. pull out my engine and fully build it

what im pretty much looking for is the least down time and least money spent (build offset by selling stock parts)

btw, are there shops who can sell a built to order engine in which they source the head and block for the customer? pretty much a fully built crate engine

Buy a cheap D series and run that while you build your engine.
