I was surfing the web for car security and I came across a wheel clamp which clamps to your rim just like a boot. I guess the makers of autolock now sell this.

yeah i saw this a couple days ago too. i've always wondered why some company never made a BOOT for everyone to buy. might not be a complete solution..but its another hurdle for thieves

 

They only make it for UP to 16" wheels? I dont quite fully understand how it is clamped. Would be an obstacle for people with corrected camber and lowered vehicles.

 

It doesn't seem to be a problem for lowered vehicles, unless the car is slammed with zero wheelgap.

good luck carrying it around though... it's gotta be frigging heavy and big. At least you could use it on your driveway or something.

 

holy **** that is expensive..with teh lug blocker attachment it's well over 500

 

Just go downtown and clamp it on a couple of cars. You can make your money back realy quick!

 

how exactly does that stop them from stealing the car, does the lock get caught in the wheel well, if feel stupid for asking this but can anyone explain it

If you're talking about the <u>pitbull</u> wheel-lock, then it prevents the wheel from rotating. And, if you can't rotate your wheel, then thieves can't drive off in your car. Granted, to prevent thieves with tow-trucks, you'll need one pitbull for one of the front wheels and another pitbull for one of the rear wheels. (total 2 needed).

 

with the pitbull cant they just take the whole wheel off and put some dummies on to roll it?
the lug blocker looks cool though. i'm too lazy to read the whole descriptions

 

yup, lug-blocker is supposed to stop thieves to put steelies.

IMHO, for those with no garages, this is a very wise inverstment (+ about 20 other theft prevention methods).

21 aircraft.. **** there are like 21 ITRs stolen in a month.

 

for the amount invest it on some of our vehicles i think is way worth it , if it prevents some one form stealing the car .
