Default Wheel shaking.. help!

when i reach about 60 mph +the steering wheel shakes alot .. and then starts to go to the right,i have already gotten an alignment but they only fixed the toe because they said camber was not fixable till i got camber kits. My 2 front tires have SOME uneven inner wear.. do you guys think i need new tires or would camber kits fix my problem?

A better alignment from a different shop and having your tires flipped and rebalanced would be your best bet. The general HT consensus is that a front camber kit isn't necessary unless you want your upper a-arm banging the shock tower.

As far preventative maintanence, rotate your tires OFTEN. I usually rotate my tires 3 or 4 times between oil changes. The rear tires aren't subject to much abuse since they just free-wheel back there, whereas the front tires, turn, stop, and accelerate the car...

My horror story to share with you is that I've tried 3 different alignment shops in 1 week this past month coz my car started wandering to the right after my tranny rebuild and 10.3" front brake upgrade. The first shop screwed everything up. Second shop alleviated a little bit of the problem. Third shop got my car to drive straight at the expense of the steering wheel being off center. And if you look at my car dead on, you can visually see the toe-out. Granted, inital turn in is more responsive at the expense of more pronounced bumpsteer.

I'm just waiting for my new suspension to come in the mail so that I can get that installed and remove my SK2 upper control arms and set my ride height a little lower than it is right now before getting another alignment from a 4th shop...

so no camber kit? .. i have a lifetime alignment with Firestone.. i payed $170 and really dont want to go to any other shop. they have fixed the toe and **** still pulls right and shakes very very ugly ... i realy need to correct this. I have new tires in the rear.. tomorow ill probably go buy 2 new front tires and go back to firestone and see if they can zero the toe in anymore. This really really sucks i keep wasting money and it doesnt get better

It's entirely up to you... I have one installed because I was less informed when I bought them years ago... When I get my new suspension in, I will more than likely put the stock UCAs back on to aid in wheel travel.

I have an alignment plan as well with Express Tire, and went to 3 different locations of the same chain. The 4th shop I'll be going is old school and I have an alignment warranty with them (albeit 1 year) from when I had some suspension work done a few months ago.

Just because you have a lifetime warranty with firestone doesn't mean you can't go to a different firestone... They all should honor your alignment plan... It's just a matter of finding one that does good work.

Read that and then you can decide if you want a front camber kit or not.

Your real problem is toe and tire balance... Funky toe settings would cause more pull to either side, nasty tire wear, more than camber would. Tire balancing should fix your steering wheel vibrations.

As long as your tires are corded at the shoulders, I'd have them flipped, balanced, and rotated to the rear instead of spending more money on 2 new tires...

does it shake like crazy at 60+ always or only when you floor it, if its when you floor it check you axle for damage, a bad right axle will shake violently at over 50+ mph and pull right when flooring
