act clutch squeal?
I have the xtss in my stock turbo b16, and it has recently started to make a squeeling noise when i take off and sometimes into second gear. If it has 8k miles on it thats a lot. ONly been to the track with it once or twice and dont beat on it much. Is this normal to hear, i've noticed it in a lot of cars with act and others. Does it means my clutch is about done or a 'normal' noise?
I have the same 1 and they all make that noise. I was wondering the same thing but I asked my friend and he said most of the act clutches make that noise, its mostly in 1st gear.
I'm on my second act clutch setup. Both have a rattle/squeal noise when the car was in neutral unless i pressed on the clutch. It would go away then.
Now I notice a new noise when I am going slow 1st/2nd and it is sounds like a squeal from either my clutch or suspension. Not really sure what it is cause it only lasts for about 1-3 seconds. It reminds me of the nosie that a dynojet makes when the operator is braking the drum after a run.

That almost sounds like an input shaft bearing to me. have you ever replaced that?
Mine is just when squeals when i engage the clutch in 1st and sometimes 2nd

i doubt its the input shaft bearing, thats more of a whirling/grinding sound. My clutch that i had in my car(action), did the same thing. When it came out, i noticed the springs had loosened up a bit and the spline could be moved around a little. It's probably just wear and something you put up with to run performance clutches?
