Im planning on taking my type s in to the dealer because my 3rd gear grinds sometimes and i also asked if they can do a compression test to make sure motor is still breathing right. My question is can the dealer find out by looking at my car thats its being raced out and if so would they question reparing if there is any damage.

 

Well, the compression test will tell them if it's been beat on bad enough. I heard k trannys often have grinds so you'll probably be good.

 

As long as you don't have heavy mods you should be fine like anything other than an cat-back and intake.

I spoke to me dealership and they said that 02-04 have the grind problem, but the 05-06 fixed that problem.

they have problems with every year 02-06, might of tried to fix it, but weren't successful

 

He also told me to make sure I press the clutch in all the way cause they're know for doing when the clutch isn't allllllllllll the way in. I've paid attention to that and it hasn't happened. I had my car for one month now and got it with 18,000 miles.

Anyway if I get any more problems I'm taking it in for sure.

 

i had the infamous 3rd gear grind. Took it in about 3 weeks after I bought the car. They replaced gear and all this other **** I cant remember but they did like 2 grand worth of work for free. Havent yet expierenced the problem. Best of luck to you.

 

The 02-04 are very known for that. It's good to have a warranty for those years still.
