Default compression. cylinder problem =/

ok just some info quick.
i have a d16y8. 136k miles on it. Just got the timing junk all done but i had the mechanic do a compression check before it, because i noticed a lack of power that has been going on for a while now. He called me back and told me that i was at

#1 - 125
#2 - 175
#3 - 175
#4 - 175

As you can see, #1 is a problem. So, he gave me a can of enviro engine flush and said to come back in 2 days to have a leak down test done. (duh no kidding)
I was just wondering if any of you guys had a similar problem and what you ended up paying? Ive read problems on here ranging from bad rings/valves to bent rods (god i hope not). But if so, any idea on what it would cost to replace a bend rod? Thanks a lot guys, just trying to get a feel of how much money im about to lose since i have no garage and its freezing out

You'll have to do a leakdown to determine what's wrong, but it's most likely valves or rings. I have no idea what they'd charge to fix that, but you might be better off getting a new motor.

Does cylinder 1 hold or does it keep dropping?

man i wish i could answer that. The mechanic did the test for me for free. He just gave me the final numbers. Im assuming though that if it holds its a piston and if it drops its a leak somewhere?

thats weird. given you have only a 30% difference between the higest to the lowest, I think your mechanic did it wrong, ask him to do a running compression test, thats the best one to test IMHO.

yeah i know it is weird. it would be different if that one cylinder was like under 100. im hoping its just a stuck valve or something and that having the engine flush in the car for this long will losen it up. or like you said the mechanic did the test wrong. we shall see tomorrow
