Default Removing axles ..why wont it come out

So i have everything off that needs to come out to give me room to pull the axles. I got the passenger side off now i am trying to get the drivers side out and its not moving idk why, this is an SH. It should just come out correct after u put alittle force behind with like a crossbar and pry on it mildly behind the innner cv boot..shouldnt it ??

it might be frozen in there, try to spray some pb blaster or wd40. if all else fails. you would need a puller.

i. e. this one.

Is it stuck on the hub/rotor or in the tranny? If its in the tranny then get someone to pry while you jerk and have another person tap the axle with a hammer.. make sure to use tons of pb blaster.. it took up about a hour to get mine out.

Its stuck in the atts unit which is on the drivers side. And there is no room to get a hammer in there really just enough for a pry bar and i dont want to destory anything on the axle or anything.

u have to jack the car up higher and get like a chisel and tap to pry it away from the atts unit

between the subframe and that part of the atts unit that warps around it so idk how you can hammer at it. unless maybe you go from an angle but that seems like the angle will be so much that u wont actually be able to hit the axle away from the atts unit.

Where were you hammering? The manual says to separate it at the bearing support by lightly tapping with a plastic hammer

i used a pickle fork (used for separating ball joints) and tapped it between the axle and the trans case since its shaped like a wedge...this method is a last resort though, theres a chance you could crack the trans case

Yes thats what it says in mine too but idk who wrote that but there is no way to directly hit the axle with a hammer.

no i didnt pry with the pickle fork, i hammered the wedge shaped end between the tranny and the axle end...and the wedging action forced them apart. but like i said, you should only use this as a last resort cuz you could crack the trans case. at work we use an air hammer and chisel to beat it out

I got mine out today in 30 seconds. Just find a piece of metal pipe and fit it in between the atts unit and the end of the shaft. then hammer lightly on the end sticking out using the pipe like a pry bar. It popped out instantly.

i pulled mine out by using a dead blow hammer on a steel bar angled in there, if you have the car up high enough you should be able to get a pretty good swing on it, get the bar as close as you can to being straight in line with the cv axle and nail it with the dead blow hammer it worked out really good, once it is past that little clip it will slide right out.

I just went through this a few weeks back myself. Stick a screw driver or pry bar in there and pound on it when a mallet.

you have to jiggle the inboard joint while hitting it with a hammer. the little c clips get wedged pretty badly if they are reused.
