I'm installing hawk hps pads on my 2000 civic ex and I can't seem to pivot the caliper back over the pads. it seems the pads are too thick. is there any way I can get the caliper over the pads?

 

take one of the old pads and put it on the piston, the c-clap it all the way down until it's compressed. Once compressed, slide it back on and you're good to go.

Of you can bleed the brakes and re-fill fluid, whichever floats your boat.

 

Just did mine today, compress the pistons.

 

yes you need to compress the piston back into the caliper.

the rears (if you are doing them too) get twisted in like a screw, not clamped in like the fronts.

 

oh so I'm compressing that circular thing on the inner side of the caliper. good I thought I bought the wrong pads. thanks guys
