Default timing belt/water pump change

Hey, not sure if this question has already been posted or not. Ive got an obdo b16 just swapped and i'm looking into changing the timing belt and water pump. Is there anyone that can give me a markup on how to do it? I'm going to be doing it in my auto class so tools are in abundance, I just need a little guidance before I tear everything down. My car is a 1989 honda civic si.

hi, Just did that to day....

First you jack up the car and take a wheel off on the cam belt side.

Remove the cam belt cover,(may have to remove the tappit cover) socket size no 10 on D seris.

The you have to remove the alternater belt and air con belt.
Lookse belt tenchnor for the air con to loosen the belt.

The remove the pully bolt.

Put the car in gear and get a buddie to step on the breaks and use a power bar to get it off. 17 on D series.

The take off the pully, DONT loose the little pice of metel that sits in the crank and pully.

remove the lower cam cover more no 10s.

The put a jack under the engine and remove the engine mount.

Then the cam belt should be free.
Remove the spark plugs.

Loosen the cam belt tenchenor. and slide the cam belt off.

Take out the water pump (will make a mess if you havent drained the cooling system)

I got a replacement water pump but the one in my car had plastic turbine.

So I cleaned it up and put it back.

Set the time as per manuel and put everything back....
hope i didnt for get anything.

* timeing

yeah the cam gear has an "up" mark

I didnt have to do this as I took the spark plugs out, cam or crank did not move and I sliped the new one on.

Then I pushed over the engine to see if valves/pistons met.

Car is running fine.
even at 7000 rpm

I didnt miss a tooth

So I added up all the parts:

timing belt & tensioner
timing cover gaskets (3)
water pump
water pump gaskets (2)
valve cover gasket

& came up with $130.00+...

Am I spending my money at the wrong places?
