soo my car was running fine (92 civic with a b16) then all of a sudden it started backfireing a bit and puttering so we changed the fuel filter figured that was the prob but nope changed the puttering went down ALOT but is still puttering alot sounds like hwen u roll or tounge does it low to mid rps once in high rpms its not a prob. any one have this prob that might be able to help? thanks.

 

make sure all your plug wires are on good and in the correct firing order........

 

also make sure that the screw on the rotor didnt come out and that rotor isnt just flopping around on the shaft in the dizzy. had that happen to me before and caused me the same problem and a nice tow bill to get it home only to find out that it was as simple as that.

 

sooo we pull out a spark plug wire lemmie tell u the bitch was on there... ended up ripping it out so i said expletive it might as well do a tune up cuz prev owner never todl me when they last did it.. 1 of the plugs was shot... 1 of the other ones had **** ton of oil... soo i bought all the stuff and waaaamow no more sputter nor backfireing! so just hope the plug was faulty where hte oil build up was if not

 

did you change your valve cover seals?
