Macco recently opened up a shop in my area nanuet,NY they currently charge 800$ for their signature paint job which is 2 stage. They said they will cut out my rust, and grind down the other surface rust. and will give me a 5yr warranty on paint peeling and chipping and on the clear coat.
Im getting a factory paint job color on my 1995 honda prelude Si
i was wondering has anyone experienced their paint job before? is it a good idea to have my paint done by them? Yes
or no
?

it really depends on who is painting. its more the painter than the paint. i know of a guy that work at macco that does great black paintjobs, but i doubt you would get a good black paint job at very many other maaco places.

So far it seems like the people that chose to go with the cheaper paint jobs, didnt come out well, but the ones which got the 500$ and up ones they came out good

Really depends on how well it's preped and who is painting. A few hundred dollars and a few hours can be the difference between a good paint job and a great paint job.
from what i learned.
Prep the car yourself if you can handle it,
making a car nice is all in the prep work. Like stated above paint is the easy part. I would remove all the glass and things you don't want painted and prep the hell out of it. Take it to macco with a case of beer in the trunk and tell the painter there is a gift in the back for him.
that = balla paint job. haha.
Then after you get it painted don't wash or wax it for like a month. Get a friend that knows how to buff/ wetsand and get to work. The car will look money when its done.

all Maacos are different. Before my dad had his bodyshop, and even when he had the shop, he must have had over a hundred cars painted. He used different ones and when he found the best one he stuck with it.
ask around and see which ones near you are good and which ones suck

Its amazing how far an extra 20 bucks would go. On my last car i tossed the painter a bag of some good stuff (45 bucks worth) and he really busted his *** on my car
