i have a b18b1 and after i got in an accident ive been hearing a sparatic ticking noise coming from the engine, it sounds like it is coming from the head but im not sure, it isnt coming from the bottom end either, its not a knock, and if i rev the engine past about 4,500 RPM the ticking noise goes away, but as soon as it drops down below about that, it comes right back, its pretty loud too

any idea what this problem could be?

 

sounds like lobe tap to me. very common in honda motors. need valve adjustment and should fix it.
