getting readt to do my swap this weekend
so this weekend im hoping to finally do my motor swap in my 97 civic ex. with helms manual in hand, im ready to do my first swap! ive done a majority of my research here on h-t, so thank you to everyone whos helped answer my ?'s.
i have a 98 JDM B18c motor w/LSD tranny, complete harness, new axles, shift linkage and p72 ECU.
i will be replacing the clutch, flywheel, gaskets, seals, water pump, cam gears, acc pullys, timing belt, acc belts, and i will be keeping my a/c (i have the crv bracket).
i will be adding...
AEM high flow fuel rail
AEM high flow fuel filter
Russel steel braided fuel line
ebay SRI w/K&N filter
megan header
carsound cat
new 02 sensors
apex ws2 cat back exhaust
vision wires with ngk iradium plugs
new cap and rotor
mishimoto radiator
Innovative motor mounts
d/s motor bracket for 99-00 civic si
tranny bracket for 99-00 civic si
ive purchased new oem head bolts, oem flywheel bolts, motor mount bolts/nuts, and some oem washers to replace some old rusted bolts.
i have a gsr throttle cable, upper and lower radiator hoses for 99-00 civic si and 97-01 gsr (i wasnt sure which ones to use).
is there anything im missing? does anyone have any advise they'd like to leave from their personal experiences?

I don't have much to add, besides that the Si and GSR radiator hoses should both work. But the hoses will be bigger than the taps on the radiator. So you need to get a couple hose clamps to tighten the hoses onto your radiator.
Also, if your mount are high hp/race mounts, you will have vibrations in the cabin. I put in Hasport race mounts when I put my B18C in last year. For a daily driver, the vibration annoys the hell out of me. So I will be pulling my motor again, probably within 2 weeks, to put all brand new STOCK mounts in.
As far as wiring goes, you are going to need to use your EX wiring harness on the B18. I had to extend wires from it to my o2 sensor by the tranny, my evap purge solenoid, and I believe my IAB. For the IAB, I had to cut a plug off of my b18 harness to plus into the IAB. From one wire on the plug I ran to my ECU. I believe any 12v power source will work. But there is a certain pin on your ECU to run it to. Which is what I did. The other wire off of the plug you have to ground.
ONE last thing. After I got my swap all in and started, it ran like complete ****. I messed with it for a week and couldn't figure a damn thing out. Thats is until I traced all of my wiring to make sure all the sensor plugs were in the right spot. Turns out, I had my TPS plug and MAP sensor plug switched around. Switched them back and within 2 seconds she was running perfect. So just watch out for that
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck!
