anyone running h22 with no tensioner belt.
i was wondering. is anyone here running there h22 with no tensioner belt. i have herd that it increases some power or what not. but i dont understand what it even does. i have left mine off after my friend left his off a while ago and his car seems perfectly fine. anyone else?
Are you asking about the counter balance shaft belt?
What it does is turn 2 other small shafts that are weighted to be opposite of the crankshaft weights, that cancels vibration caused by the crank swinging.
I've heard of people taking those off, but I'm skeptical of the real amount of HP gain. I mean you can spin either shaft with your pinky finger, so how much horsepower is really being 'wasted' turning them to counter the crank vibration.
After all, I know I don't have a 5hp pinky finger! LOL

You don't really gain any hp, but you make it easier for the oil to flow. Gain about 10 psi, but you feel a increase of vibration at idle.
I believe Mr Wonderfull removed his on his recent H22 build. He had pictures in his build thread...

But it looks like he has removed them for some reason. Maybe try contacting him and get his thoughts.
