Default Oil Pressure Install

I have just finished searching this and just had a question. In one thread I found that these are the parts I will need

1. 1/8" bspt to 1/8"npt adapter (preferably brass)
2. 1/8" ss line (say 2 feet or so) with (tapered ends)
3. 1/8" T fitting
4. 1/8" npt to 1/8" bspt adapter

I just wanted to make sure...You get a Male to Male 1/8" bspt to 1/8"npt ? Then the 1/8" SS line will screw onto the male npt end. Then the 1/8" T fitting goes into the other end of the SS line. Then you screw your oil pressure sending unit into one end of the t and get a male npt to female bspt adapter and screw the stock sending unit?

Just wondering because I am looking to do this tomorrow when I change my oil. I'll have to run to McMasterCarr before I do it and get the right things.

1/8 npt and 1/8 bspt are the same thing. all you will need is a 1/8 npt double male and an 1/8 npt tee. thats it.

I thought the 1/8" NPT has a 27 thread pitch, but 1/8" BSPT has a 28 thread pitch?

So what all do I need if I just want to install the sending unit and don't really carry about the stock sensor?

Still need the fittings or just screw the sending unit right into the stock sensor spot? I've just been hearing and seeing different things and trying to get a definite answer since I'm going to try to install it tomorrow.

Thanks again

theoretically you could just screw the sending unit directly into the block where the sensor was, but this is a VERY risky operation, cuz the block is BSPT, and the sending unit is npt (almost positivE)

not only that, but since the sending unit weighs a good amount, plenty of people who have done this have ended up with the sending unit snapping off when connected directly to the block when the motor rev's and ****. then you gotta drill it out and ish...

thats why everyone recommends mounting the T and/or sending unit remotely on the firewall or something with a ~2' hose connecting it to the block (like i did)

I dont have my stock sensor hooked up, no light.

Does anyone know if vtec will still work with the stock sensor unhooked with stock ecu? (I have a VAFC so vtec works even if its cold or oil is low and such... and reverse)

Yes please!

Also when I looked at it today from underneath the car, it seems that the stock oil pressure sensor is above the oil filter. Most threads that I read said its below the oil filter. Am I missing something?

NOTE TO SELF (AND OTHERS TOO!): DO NOT RUN YOUR FEED LINE LIKE I DID!!!

aka, a hose that you push onto a barbed fitting into the block, then tighten wtih a hose clamp. mine blew off not 5 minutes after driving on her maiden voyage.

time to buy a stealthmode kit that actually THREADS on!!!

Does anyone know how big the stealthmode fitting is?

Also if you use the stealthmode fitting, would you just screw the aftermarket sending unit into that or still run a SS line to another location and secure it there?

I meant to ask you about that. I couldn't imagine a hose clamp holding 80+ psi of oil pressure

Live and learn...

I don't know the size, but most oil senders have the same threads. The Stealthmode fitting will fit your Honda.

Do not put a tee on the block. Run a SS line to anywhere else and put the tee on the end of the line.

i have the stealthmode block adapter, it is like 1.5 to 2 inches long, 19mm socket big.. i went to install yesterday, had a nylon line for the oil pressure sender, was ganna put the adapter on my block and run the nylon line to the top of the firewall for the oil pressure sender, my buddy said not to, to mount the stealthmode adapter on teh firewall as well, and run a STAINLESS LINE from the block, my problem is finding a bspt stainless line, i bought the block adapter to eliminate this problem. hawkse you think i can put that block adapter on the block, and run npt stainless line to the sender on the firewall? if not im buying a bspt to npt adapter, npt line, then npt to bspt adapter to hook up to the stealthmode fitting... yea im a little confused, gauges are in, just need to hook up the senders
