Default Replacing Stock Shift ****!

I was wandering how i could take the stock shift **** out so i can replace em with a different type. I realized that it doesnt easily come out like toher Hondas. Im not to confident with trying different ways of taking it out because i dont wana break anything so i was wandering if someone would be kind enough to tell me HOW TO and such. By the way...iSEARCHED.

Thanks.

pretty easy...there is a clip at bottom of shift ****..it unclips by pressing it on both sides..that should release the **** from the boot...then unscrew the ****...it will seen like it takes forever...but it will come off...yah had to do it...when i replaced my boot with a type r 1...shouldnt take more than 15 mins...

i just took some vise grips and gripped the stock one. it took some elbow grease and ruined the stock one but i got it out
then the installaion for the aftermarketone is easy as long as you have the right boot.

Its its stock then just grab really tight below the **** (on the boot) and pull down at an angle. Kind of like prying it off with your hand.

Once it comes off you're going to go "Oh....****, that was easy"

pull down at where the **** ends, grip it with some force, and pull it down at an angle. then unscrew the ****. it will seem as though it never stops unscrewing.

learn by doing.

There are two screws holding it to the console.
