Default Clearcoat on wheels

Mines are coming off the wheels so it doesn't look nice. Is there something I can use to apply the clear coat again? If not, I guess I gotta do the really shiny sanding--I kinda like the dull, raw aluminum look.

u can use aircraft stripper and take off all the coating and then reapply clear or polish them up w/ sand paper/compound. see the polishing link on the top of this sub-forum for some nice examples and how-to

Thanks for the reply Mr. R*L*X, this clear though--is it just the regular ones in a spraycan or anything special? Someone said 'if you want to deal with having no clear coat on your wheels' or something like that so I don't know what to expect if I polish them.

well.. if i were to spray new clear on metal, i would use a spray gun.

if you want a bare metal polish you can maintain it w/ nev'r dull every month. it's an aluminum polish. these are other products out there but not sure on price
