Default Just forget about changing the fuel filter on a fifth gen!!!!

Sorry, I just had to vent, after wasting the past 2 hours dealing with that nonsense!!!! And, YES, I read all of hondadude's write up and I bought the necessary tools (14 mm and 19mm crowsfoot wrenches)! You will never encounter a more tightly installed filter in the most difficult to reach of places from any angle, as you will on a '94-'97 Accord!

I've changed a few fuel filters in my days, but NEVER have I seen one this tough. Those Honda engineers must have been laughing at us when they decided to cram that thing in their. Oh well, I've heard rumors that Honda's fuel filters are a 'lifetime filter', so I guess it's not that big of a deal after all.

Anyway, thanks for wasting 20 seconds to console with my anger, lol. And to those of you who have removed those dreaded filters, I applaud you sincerely!

Oh, no doubt, I'll agree that is the right tool for the job...It's just the tightness of the bolts and the possible twisting of the filter bracket and the fuel rail that made this job a real headache!

I think I got mine done in about a half hour. Thanks to my skinny *** hands. But I know what you're talking about, those things are bitches. Maybe I'll try and relocate it next time I change it out.

haha, yeah, those are a PITA! I did mine and it took forever, then we did one on my friends Accord (the same from the timing belt write-up) and it was much easier. Mostly because we figured out how to do it on mine which made doing his that much easier.

Default Where is it in 6th gen's

Where did they place it in the 6th gens? I can't find it under the hood in my '99 EX sedan 5-speed? I also can't find a section on it in my Haynes repair manual?

O shyt! I was thinking the same thing about the fuel filter. I was starting to think I was the only one who thought it was damn near impossible to replace.

Took me about 20-25 mins to do mine. Do to the fact that I learned the "how-to's" from a 15 veteran Honda tech.
