Default Starting Problems

My girlfriends car is starting to mess up and we dont know what is wrong, we just changed the dizzy and the battery (with in the last week). Her car is a 91 civic DX hatch (still dpfi). her car is very hard to start when it gets hot (and from what I know her bro switched out the main relay already). and it feels like it hard to start when its not hot either (worse when its hot). It cranks for a long time, then when it catches it sorta like a put put start (like a lawn mower) it feels weak and takes a while before it fully starts.

what do you think is the problem? I think it might be the spart plugs and maybe spark plug wires. any other suggestions

well I know it has to do with starting but what about the starting? its not the starter cause the car cranks, but it takes a while before it catches, and when it does catch it feels weak when it does like its about to die or not start up at all

It's the relay. Any time that you have a hard start in the hot weather, you're looking at the relay. There are micro-cracks that form in the circuitry, and with the heat, they expand and cause more problems. Even if it has been replaced, there is no certainty that it was a good one.

Swap out the main relay with a known good unit, and then give it a shot.
