what do you know that you want to do? communicate that first. taking someone's
opinion blindly isn't going to put the right car, motor or tranny in your hands
but someone will gladly take your money.
I can tell where you are coming from so those of us that care usually ask this:
what is the car's intended use?
drag only
rr only
auto x
street only
is it a dual usage car, street/strip or street/strip/auto-x/RR/HPDE
note: if you dont know what all this means, there are forums on HT to explain it.
- this wil help you determine what would work.
what is your budget?
- what work can you do yourself?
- who do you know that can work on your car for a reasonable price?
- can you be taught, do you know someone that can teach you?
- what kind of time do you have to spend on the build?
- how much money/time do you have to put into this?
- how much reward do you have to know what this would satisfy if you
did this work?
- how available are you to parts at affordable rates?
it sounds like to me that you have seen a couple things and have no basis
for knowing what is best for you. I will tell you that no-one here will tell you
what to do if they are worth thier salt because most people here with any
significance has learned it themselves over time. They have the knuckles
to prove it.
get to your local strip, auto-x, shop or road course driving school
day and go see it in action. take the time to see what works, meet some
folks, ask some questions... have some fun while you are at it... try not
to lose your liscence during the process
hope this helps.
