Went Flying Today .
gorgeous norcal day so i went flying. plane is a 1993 Citabria 7GCAA aurora. messed around and snapped some pics of myself flying , and a couple of me in front of the airplane. camera is a canon sd630. enjoy
3 citabrias , left is a 7ECA citabria, middle is mine 7GCAA aurora , right is a 7GCBC explorer

me about to get in , aircraft in the distance is an L-39 Albatros , a Czech fighter/trainer which performs at airshows, they were leaving to go to pt magu air show for the weekend.

just fired her up , you can see the L-39 in the background.

on climbout , i was gonna stay in the pattern and practice touch and goes but was far too busy , so i decided to go a bit east and practice some maneuvers.

about 4,000 feet ascending to 5,000

roll to the right

couple random snaps of myself

desending down to do some lower altitude maneuvers

after landing i messed around , took some pics of the other citabria on the ramp , and some pics of myself in front of mine.

me holding my headset and kneeboard

the cockpit , pretty strait foreward . everything you need nothing you dont!

enjoy

Citabria's are mainly used for trainer aircraft. Nice solo flying though, I haven't been up in a long time and I miss it
Here is one of my dads planes, his other is a Sportbipe

i wouldnt say they were mainly used as trainer aircraft there are other aircraft which are far better suited for training. the citabria is used in aerobatic training though quite a bit. i trained in one but you dont see alot of flight schools use them for training .

Right, I guess that is how I remember them. The field near my place likes to use Piper Tomahawks for novice trainers, but they also had trainer Citabrias that double as glider tow planes.

ya they are pretty much a jack of all trades. tow planes , banner towers , aerobatic training ,tailwheel training and primary trainer . but alot of people seem to have problems starting in a tailwheel for obvious reasons.
