Best way to keep your S clean
So, I have Berlina Black...Black being a hard, hard color to keep clean...I was wonderwing what is the best way my black beauty clean?
I ran a serch on this and all i got was something about a california duster. what is that?
also, what are some great detailing products for the leather, or just the interior in general.
one thig i hate is that if i get close to my car...there are slight abrasions all over my clear coat? is there anyway i can buff this out, or make my paint look new again?
im hoping there are people as **** as i am to keep their car clean.

dont buff it if you dont know how.. you gona make it worst.. let someone do it that knows how to..
use only california duster for light dust.. such as, lints and wat not.. if you gonna use it to wipe off sand dust, you just gonna scratch it...
use quick detailer spray after each wash w/ detailing towel...
run through your hand to the paint, and if it isnt smooth, clay bar it...

I use this stuff called System One. I doubt you can get it where you're at, it's industrial quality and requires a business license.
Meguiars, Zymol, or Mothers.

Waxes won't do anything for those abrasions in the OP's S2K. Depending on the depth/severity of the abrasions, the finish will need to be polished in some form. You can use a chemical polish that will hide/fill in the abrasions or a compound/finishing polish that will actually buff the finish to make it smooth. The latter needing a mechanical buffer for best results.
I just made an offer on an S2K.. don't know anything about them. Stupid question but I have to ask: Can you take an S2K to the car wash, or is it too low to drive over those rails? or I shouldn't do it because of the soft top?

I've never taken my S2k to a machine car wash, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. Just for peace of mind I'd rather wash it myself or take it to one of those self- serve car washes.

learn anything and everything you'd ever dream about car detailing here: http://www.autopia.org. there are some good tips in this site...but autopia has by far the most comprehensive site for detailing i've seen.
and for your question on circular motion? ...apply and remove ONLY in a linear motion...with the direction of airflow over your car...

waxes do absolutely nothing in the matter of hiding scratches/blemishes.
you'll have to get the paint polished aka "buffed", then re-wax it.
and if ur not using the 2 bucket method with a GOOD CLEAN wash mitt, youre just going to make it worse.
I polished my friends black 98 ranger with had heavy oxidation with my rotary buffer and meguiars dual action polish, and a might cutting pad, and it came out looking brand new again. that was using a moderately abrasive polish but a light cutting pad

yes you can, only if you haven't changed ride height.
i took my AP1 to both soft towel/laser car washes at least 2times a week during winter due to heavy sand/salt on the road
if you live in area where it snows alot, i recommend getting clear bar, not just front portion but entire front(hood/fender, front portion kit only coveres little bit of hood/fender)
to OP, i recommand getting connection with good bodyshop owner.
my car went to bodyshop every week or every other week to get detailed.
normally, he'll charge $250 or more, but free for me most of times or at very low rate
to anyone reading this post, if you are in BOSTON, MA area, i recommand taking your car to
Geroge's Autobody in Woburn, MA
ask for owner George, and tell him that David with red s2k/black itr sent you.

carwashes will harm your soft top. Even touch free, because of the high pressure sprayers. A brush type carwash is for silver 93 bonnevilles, not black S2Ks.

either one works well.....

I didnt like those kits when I tried them. I use the 3mm clay bar with dish soap now. It works really well.
