Default All Motor Intake Manifold

My Project B20Vtec has been in the works . I picked up a B20 block and bought 84mm 11.5 CP pistons and polished the crank while i was at it
(also balanced the bottem end)

I have a Ported GSR head with JunIII Cams in the garage and also a hytech header. I am putting everything together but realized the head was missing an intake manifold.

I ve been searching around HT and realized the bottom IMs are my choices.
My goal is to have as much peak HP as possible because its going to be a drag car/daily driver, but i still want decent low/midrange power so that it can still be fun on the street.

From what ive gathered , i m worried that blox is too small , aebs have rough surfaces inside and is also a little too small etc, so the victor x would be a good choice. But others are warning me that the victor x with its short fat runners would lose too much low/midrange.

What is THE IM for me ?? and also what TB and TB size should i COMBO it with ?

please support your vote with your knowledge ..

I like the Performer X, one of the few manifolds that has some design to it. The Blox, Skunk and ITR are RELATIVELY the same with minor improvements on the S2 Pro. The AEBS may be a decent manifold but the quality is crap. Victor X is more of a turbo manifold or a dedicated drag car manifold, not that it cannot be street driven I do not think it is ideal.

The only 2 manifolds of the bunch that are designed for a GSR head are the Performer X and the AEBS, I am not positive on the Victor X but I think not.

Oh and Edelbrock has had nothing to do with JG for quite some time. You may notice their name is no longer on any of the products.

I believe the opening on the skunk manifold is 64mm so I would run atleast that sized TB. that's what i was running on my setup in my sig. this was on an unported head though.

when my new setup is back together it will be 68mm tb, cut/ported/rewelded S2 manifold, ported / 3 angle on gsr head, rage v1 header

what are you running for internals?

Performer X and a skunk2 tb of 64 no more than a 68mm.

Are you running hondata...because if you're not that should be next after this.

It is weird how everybody has different opinions on this subject. I was on yahoo.com and came across this website
http://www.kosmodog.com/

although theres no dyno chart , this guy's setup is making good peak power and hes using a 72mm TB with the JG manifold. Seeing how the website is old, i am assuming it was the JG victor X.

and yes i ll be tuning with hondata s200 thanks

Opening on the performer x is ~66mm, just a hair bigger than my Professional Products 65mm

i run the victor x only because my car sees alot of drag racing and is always in the high revs...im running skunk 2 stage 3 cams... redline at 9650 from 6-9650 it feels like a rockett!!! and on an 81.5mm bore! ran a solid 12.47 and put down 211whp and 137tq i think with you having a 2.0 and a solid cam setup u should run the victor x if u plan to drag race it if u want strickly street and a lil drag racing run the skunk 2 style!

Or he could just have a b16 manifold ported and put that on his gsr. The IB manifold and TB are gonna give you much better midrange especially if your running a b20 setup. You dont really want to rev that motor out real high and pretty much all of the manifolds mentioned are most effective at high rpm.

really? I always thought they were the same size. How about the TB. Will a GSR TB fit a b16 manifold?

Sorry to chime in late here, but I'm under the philospohy that a roughed up plenum would benefit better atomization of air:fuel mixture. Hence "dimpling" your intake runners after the injector ...
