Default Ferrea Roller Rocker Arms

Has anyone here installed or tuned a car with these roller rocker arms? Are the gains really worth the cash and bypassing the vtec. And which cams would be most suitable?

Search for Toda VTEC Killers for parallel answers. And it's definitely not for a street car, if thats what your application is for.

PM user Jared. He used a set on his FI build. He's an AEM Certified tuner and did all the tuning on it. Also check up with Jack from P1 (b18cxr is his user name I think). He was able to get Toda Killers to idle at ~800 RPM).

You cannot use rocker-arm type cams on roller rockers. Single point contact (rollers) are vastly different from stock rocker arm type that are variable on contact.

whats the advantage of a roller rocker setup? do the rollers allow for a more distinct transition in profile compared to the flat tappet?

i guess there might be a little less friction between the rollers and the cams too?

They are one and the same, note that price is per pair so you would need 8

Where does it say toda? Yes toda does make a vtec killer cam but they do not work with a roller cam. You must use the Crane/Ferrea cams or design your own/

i think there would be a REALLY small difference in mass, and powerband . what i was asking before was, will a roller rocker setup allow you to run a more aggressive cam than a flat tappet? and when i say aggressive i mean the transitioning from the ramp to an area of high lift. thats why some long duration cams suck in my opinion. now correct ME if im wrong, but cam design is also limited by accelerations caused by the profile itself. so if you want to keep your valvetrain and run above 5000RPM all day, you need a long duration cam right? but this normally kills your low RPMS, unless you could do what im asking about with the roller rockers. i guess im getting off topic.
