VTEC Killers in action:
http://www.we-todd-did-racing....5NTQx
For a race only motor with little need for idle or part-throttle driveability, the reduction in sprung mass from the valvetrain allows for an increased rev limit.

its not meant for people who need to prove stuff on the dyno. its a race only cam, designed for only high rpm output.
on a standard vtec cam, theres the normal lobe, and the vtec lobe? normal lobe for below ~5000rpm, and vtec for everything high? well this is high rpm only. so you dont need vtec.
i say, kill vtec [as long as its on the track]

yes its killing vtec. there is no varible valves timing any more. its just going to a more aggressive cam.

you pretty much got it. it uses the same lift that VTEC uses while its engaged, but all the time. VTEC is really only to have a powerful econobox in the end...or else honda coulda just increased the cam lift permanently

what is the point of the v-tech killer cams ? y not just get an Ls?
it5 doest show any dyno proven info or horse power gains or anything????
</TD></TR></TABLE>
When they're referring to "Vtec" in the ad, they're referring to the actual process, when Vtec is engaged, switching from the mild cam, to the more aggressive profile, in order to make more HP and torque.
In some race cars, this crossover isn't necessary, there's no need for it to pass smog like a street car, and a mild profile is not only useless, but a hindrance. For some race engine builders, the crossover can be an inconvenience during a race.

Re: ToDa Cams V-Tech KiLLer (rodrez.)
True. And for like a drag race engine, the VTEC is really not needed, as its gonna run a full race cam, and I'm sure they dont care how it idles. Most dragster engines don't idle well, cause there meant to make high power up top.
Please note this is for RACE motors only, like full race, and for certain applications that MOST of us won't be using.

If you knew what the purpose of having VTEC is, then you wouldn't have to ask this question.

I think I just killed a ****-ton of brain cells reading this whole thing. . . One question: What did V-Tech ever do to those cams? Why kill it? I don't get it. . . ughhh, my head.

Damn, you posted before I could finish reading.
Like the other people have said, the cam is a more aggressive cam w/ higher lift & longer duration (I think). They have a profile similar to a Honda VTEC cam profile when VTEC is engaged without using a solinoid or similar equiptment to engage it since race cars don't need a pretty idle, usually are not running below a normal VTEC engagement point, and I forgot my third reason.
