my motor is beyond repair in my 93 vtec. would i need anything other than the computer to swap in a jdm h22?

 

Nope and you don't even need the computer really. The Jdm ECU has a speed governor on it.

 

you can use either ECU... The only thing you would need to swap is the Distributor. The JDM engines use internal coils and USDM use external

 

thanks for the help guys. anyone know where i can get just the engine alone? everywhere ive looked only has the the longblocks or entire swaps.

What's the difference between "just the engine alone" and "longblocks?"

longblock is the block n head...which is wut u want since u already have everything else. u want a longblock

 

depends wut the person meant by "just the engine alone"....

also, i don't think the older usdm h22s had external coil anyways so it should be a direct swap? can anyone with a usdm 93 h22 confirm?

a long block is just the engine alone

all preludes 92 and up had external coil distributors. Not sure about the 3rd gen and older. But they didn't put the h22 in the in the prelude until 93.

 

My jdm h22a (from '95 Accord SiR) had an internal dizzy, so I just put my H23a1 external dizzy on it.

I should say all 92+ USDM preludes were external coil...my bad
