Default Second gen b16a swap problem

Okay here’s my problem..I have a 1998 civic ex/si…that came with the 1.6 single over head cam v-tec..which has died…I bought a second generation b16a motor with a first generation tranny on it..that was the problem..I bought it because I got them both cheap..anyways..my original tranny will not fit on the b16a because it’s a dohc..and the tranny that came with the b16 is a first gen so it’s cable not hydraulic..and the person changing the engine said that he cant run the cable line for the first gen tranny because there’s no room or something for the cable...now I believe a hydraulic tranny for the b16a is about 8-900 dollars Canadian..but I’ve heard that when you put a hydrophilic tranny with the b16 the tranny does not last long..that I need to put in a cable transmission or the tranny will go bad..I am not sure how true that is and I don’t want to spend the money on the hydrophilic tranny and have it break a couple months down the road or something.. I also didn’t get the cpu for the new b16 engine but one can be purchased for 300 cnd..from jdm..now the predicament that I am in is this..I can put in the b16a engine with a new hydrophilic tranny and cpu for around 1400 cnd or I can just get the original sohc 1.6 vtec with tranny for around 1300 and I know that my old cpu and all the wiring and everything will work fine..I would much rather put in the b16 but I am not sure what other complications might arise. So if you’ve don’t this swap before and have any advice as to what other parts or problems I might encounter it would be much appreciated..thanks p.s. just curious if I were to sell the second gen b16a with the first gen cable tranny which has a exedy clutch and a new lightened flywheel, two driveshafts, ac compressor, the original clutch, all sensors and wiring (minus the cpu) starter, alternator everything you need to put it into an older model civic or crx how much do you think I would get ? Cuz I was just thinking of selling the b16 engine and putting in the original 1.6 sohc and just buying a turbo kit or some **** for that engine..let me know what you guys think ..lol sorry one more thing..i was wonderig if any hydrophilic tranny from a 93 or above dohc civic will work on the b16?

Why would you want that? From what I read on your post, you need a Hydro to Cable conversion....not a Cable to Hydro

naa bro, the first gen tranny that is on the b16 engine now is cable, the old tranny that was on the 1.6 sohc was a hydraulic but wont fit on the b16 so i need a kit to get the cable to hydraulic, i am trying to avoid having to buy a hydraulic tranny, because one of the mounts on the cable tranny will not work for my 98 ex/si, but all the mounts from the hydraulic one will fit perfectly i am not too sure that's why i made the thread
