Default burning oil on 5th gen

i have a 98sh but i burn about 5 qts in about 1000 miles. I was wondering if you guys knew the best way to solve it? I was thinking about getting type S pistons and i imagine i needs piston rods as well. I am pretty sure I would need to hone the cylinders, but not sleeve them if i get the pistons. Any ideas/suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

how many miles do you have on your car? I do not think that you need pistons and rods, that probably has nothing to do with it. Burning that much oil id say either valve seals or ringlands. any noticable power loss?

i got about 96k on my car .. i mean i feel a little bit of power loss but it still does hit VTEC pretty decently, but hard for me to compare because I have had this problem since i bought the car. I'll tell my mechanic to check the valve seals and see if we can get anywhere with it.
