sorry to say but you either need to take out the axle or the intake manifold to take it out or sell it to me

I have heard two other ways, not sure if they work tho. You can unbolt the bracket that the alternator bolts to from the block, then if you get the alternator at the right angle, it will come up and out. The other way is to unbolt the intermediate shaft bolts and twist the bracket out of the way, then with the alt. at the right angle, it will drop out. Let us know what works for you.

i just did this this summer...no removing axle or draining fluids..

pop the lower ball joint, and as a whole unit, swing the knuckle/rotor/caliper/axle out and to the right. you'll be pulling the axle out of the intermediate shaft but leaving it through the hub and swinging the whole unit out of the way, if you can understand that.

change alternator and install is just the reverse.

oh and get a helms itll tell you how to do it step by step and it involves removing the axle, its really not that bad. a friend is always helpful too

bro you don't need to take out the axle or the intake manifold.I know it looks like theres not much room but you could do it.

I have taking the alt through the top and bottom without removing the axles. only thing I removed to get it through the bottom was the exhaust manifold down pipe. easy as pie

yeah, I have seen someone on G2IC.com do it. You do not have to remove the axle or manifold. According to what I saw, you just unbolt the halfshaft and that should give you the room needed to get it out. Or you can just check out the website!! There are picks of the procedure.
