Question? - Looking for something to keep radiator fans spinning after engine is shut off?
I've got a boosted B16 in a 94 Civic EX. I have a turbo timer (like everyone else)so when I turn the key off it keeps the engine running to help cool the turbo down. However, I am looking for something like in the earlier Accords that after you shut the motor off, it kept the radiator fan spinning for a short period of time. I'm looking for some type of relay with a timer I can hook up to my radiator and A/C fans so that when my turbo timer cuts the car off, it will kick on for a minute or two to spin my fans and continute cooling. Pretty much something like a second turbo timer, but without the cost of another T.T. If anyone could help me out with what I could search for, what there called, or konws where I can get them, that would be Greatly Appreciated!!
Thanks!
Thanks!

thats easy man, i think on that model, there are 2 ignition wires, you just have to hook up to the other igniton wire, and it keeps the fan running when its supposed based on watertemp.
The problem with what PrettyLude is recommending is that the temp sensor is on the engine block which would tend to retain heat regardless of the water temperature in the radiator (which the fan would cool). As a result, I think it would keep the fan on a lot longer than what you desire.
I'd recommend that you go to "the12volt.com" and do a search on timing circuits. Then use it, through a relay, to keep the fan on for an extended time.

it would only run the fan like it supposed to based on water temp and cut off with the key, or you can hook up a relay to where it would be running all the time, both will work its just which one you would want to do.

you can change the source for the fan power to the one that keeps the car running with the turbo timer. should be pretty simple with a jumper&fuse setup in the fuse box.
but IMO...

best advice that can be given.

Thanks for the help, The12Volt site totally slipped my mind. I'll have to check it out when I get home and do a little research. I'll let you know what I find out and what I end up doing.
