Default I know you guys hate build advice threads, so do I....

I originally posted this on a less active forum but I didn't get much answers.... so I want to see what the experts have to say..

-------------------------------

Before I post let me say I've spent hours upon hours researching what would be best for me $$ wise and goal-wise.

Goal: Normal driving R with a "little extra" Would like to break 215-220whp... normal idle, nothing insane. Also would like the peace of mind of a fresh block, i'm breaking 135k now.

here's what I'm looking at now

Head
RM M22x
RM Complete Valvetrain
stock IM
possible ported TB
Hondata IM gasket

Block
JDM ITR or CTR pistons (would like further advice, leaning towards ITR though) .25 over
cylinder wall rehone (obviously)
ARP rod bolts, headstuds
new OEM Rod/Main bearings, Waterpump, Timing Belt, all gaskets, seals and o-rings replaced

Exhaust
Either SMSP or Toda header
would LIKE to keep stock exhaust (i know i know, spending all this money, will it be THAT detrimental?)

Electronics
Chipped P72 or P28 with s200
wideband o2

Fuel
RC 310's (unless you think my stockies will be fine, I think so personally but I always like insight)

Plus I have an Exedy clutch/flywheel i've been waiting to get in anyway

I'm trying to do this within the next 2 months so or so, I already have the shop lined up to do it, they are a weekend warrior outfit in NC but they are Acura master techs in the week, owned many R's.

Essentially with labor/parts I'll be right under the 4k mark, however, I'll sleep knowing I have a fresh, semi-reliable block, plus I want to give it hell at VIR with no worries!

All i'm looking for is some thumbs up or maybe some recommendations on things to do/not to do.

Thanks for your time,
Steve

Not gonna be cheap but it should be fun setup and sounds like it should make some power. Unless you already bought the s200 i would just go with crome because its free. Good luck making 220 on stock exhuast a good aftermarket exhaust will make a huge diffrence. You will probally need the injectors. See if you can get the head ported a little that will make a big diffrence. A good TUNE will definetly be required.

Stock fuel pump is more than adequate to handle his level of power. Save your money for the things you really need.

like a 2ply HG cuhz your going to need as much compression as you can get to break 215-220whp on a stock block GL

True, I've seen it a bunch of times though... would you suggest maybe building a b20 block and keeping my original block stored away off to the side?
