the goodies going into the guts

everything cleaned , bearnings lubed , installed , crank sitting in place

You finished boring and honing it without pistons? What is the skirt clearance?

exactly what i was thinking.... why would you do a final bore/hone when you dont know what the pistons measure out to?

the customer changed his mind , he was gonna run 81.5 B1 pistons in it only. once we got the engine back , since a deal came around per say on pistons , he decided he wanted to go all out. i cant forsee a problem with clearance. people beleve in and run many different piston to cylinder clearance. see what it looks like once both sets of pistons are compared is all we can do. there both 81.5mm bore pistons.

Thats because you are not psychic.

People also blow motors.

whats with the being a dick and talking condensending exactly? im just trying to post some pics , have run , share stuff , i dont need your grief. i also dont have to prove anything to you. why be a dick , read the story and look at the pics man , simple. ill take care of the rest. if you got nothing nice to say , say nothing.

sorry , i just dont see where that came from exactly or why it was warranted.

Because DonF brought up valid points and questions and you didnt answer them, you just rattled off some gibberish. "People believe in different things". What does have to do with the actual piston to wall clearance on THIS build?

for one thing , if he had of read it all instead of just talking he would see that i said before , at the start , i didnt clearance the block so how am i supposed to know. the block came with pistons fitted to the holes of course , like i also said before. therefore i dont understand his comments. it was brought to me done by a machine shop already. were waiting for pistons to arrive to see how they compare , i dont understand whats unclear or wrong about this?

engine is assembled and running great , will have pics to finish this thread off as soon as i get them from the guy. went great , zero leaks. love it when **** goes smooth. we had a problem with the ebay dude that sold us the pistons , he fuked us and we still havent seen them yet , 2 months later almost. so its running the PR4 pistons the engine was sized for , for now.

EDIT:
here ya go boys , the finish pics:

head torqued on

good coat of oil on cam and head journals , cams sitting in place with caps and holders also sitting in place ready for torque , youl notice when sitting cams in head to tighten , youl find a spot where each cam is in total relief , not pushing on any valves , this is best place to find when tightening them in. where the arrows point at this time doesnt matter , just make sure no pistons are at TDC , just in case.

almost done , lol

timing belt installed now , notice marks

good ol redtop on after refinishing

oilpan on and tight

having a smoke tightening somin , lol , looks like tensioner

flywheel next with engine sitting on ground now off stand
[IMGhttp://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j295/blacksun_photos/dougs/dougs51.jpg[/IMG]

than clutch

YS1 tranny on and tight

new knock sensor location youl notice , oil pressure sensor and sandwich adapter , getting ready to hook up oil line for good. knock sensor is bigger round one

engine hanging on my new hoist ready for insertion

almost ready , lol

passenger side mount first

than lower drivers side in

few month old dizzy installed , with new 9mm NGK wires and new iridium plugs as well

ready for axles and front and back mounts now

fill tranny and engine , notice my home made tranny fill tool from rubber garden hose and old cherry can spout , haha.

2 shots of it done and sitting pretty and running , notice also , the header missing in the last pic , last minute change cause the header didnt fit the car quite good , was an LS header and it doesnt fit the oil pan well and its too long for the midpipe. his exhaust is kinda wrote anyways , hes looking at new one. anyways enjoy guys , was a fun little project , and my first LSVTEC build. although im sure it wont be the last , lol.
