I noticed that my the white cable going to the alternator is kinda burnt up. I want to replace it because I've been having problems with my battery light turning on when the idle is low(like at a stop).

what does that cable run to, I went to auto zone and they sold me a cable and said it ran directly to the batter, I found that out to be false. the battery + runs to the starter.

so has anyone had to replace that cable before. or opened up the harness and by chance knows where it goes.

please help, this is my daily driver. I've already searched the forum and only came up with threads about replacing the whole alternator.

Alternator test good, I had it checked at auto zone.
I just bought a new battery, this past weekend.

 

gonna get a wiring diagram. im gonna guess that it goes to the battery. i dont really remember though.

 

HEY, I see this is a really old post, but did you ever get an answer on all of this? I think I have to replace my alternator cable too...but it looks daunting.

 

that white wire from your alternator goes straight to the fuse box under the hood. if your looking for just that cable i have one removed from a harness if u need one. its very easy to do.
