Default Replace alternator cable

Hi, im new on the forums and im a owner of a 2001 EX since last year. I had a electrical problem some days ago and i think that the reason is the cable that goes from the alternator to the fuse box.

Well, lets see if i can explain.

The alternator is not charging the battery. Sometimes my gauge needles die.

All the fuses are ok so I did the following test and i think that my alternator isworking good but the main cable is broken o had a high resistance:

1 - With the engine on the voltage at the battery was 11.76V and was going down.
2 - If i measure from positive bolt of alternator to its own chasis i see like 15 volts.
3 - if i measure from alternator chasis to battery positive i saw 11.76V*
4- If i measure from alternator positive bolt to battery negative i saw 15v*
5 - a voltage test (drop test i think) from alternator positive bolt to battery positive shows almost 4v.

*I can get wrong in the order but in one way i saw good voltage and in the other the battery one.

so im thinking in replacing the cable that goes from postive alternator bolt to fuse box and i have some questions:

1 - that cable (thick white one) goes directly to the fuse box or it goes to the starter first?

2- In my fuse box the only thick white cable that i can find its bolted to the left front bolt (there are two of them), and it has a thin black wire there to in the terminal. But in the diagram it says that this bolt if BAT.

In the right bolt i have a cable too but its covered. I thinks its black or something.

is that right? For me its weird because i tend to think that the thick white wire its supposed to be in the ALT bolt (right one)? Btw my alternator is bigger than stock (100 i think)

i test and bot bolts have continuity with battery positive.

Thanks for your answers.

The white cable from the alternator goes to T101 at the fuse box.

The blk cable from the battery (+) goes to T1 at the fuse box.

so they where inverted... so i can do a new cable from alternator bolt to T101.

I think my alternator is 100 amps (stock is 70 or 80), so if i plug it to T101 wouldn't it fry the 80amp fuse on the fuse box? 🤔

I don't think so... The fuse will only blow if your electrical system pulls more than 80 amps. Voltage is supplied, Amperage is asked for. If your car doesn't need 100 amps, there will not be a 100 amp draw, and the alternator will have "leftover" (the ECM should turn down the output automatically.)

Right, i forgot that amperage is pulled. Anyways i was thinking to get a bigger main fuse just in case.
