Default What is the best oem usdm cd player I can put into my integra (cosmetic)

Hello, going for the stock look in my 95 integra, and was wondering what my options where for putting in an OEM cd player. Which years will work from what cars and how. Thanks for the help.

The wiring is easy, all you need is a rev harness for the HU and an adapter harness for the car.
The best OEM HU will be the latest one you can find, an 00-01 tegs HU will fit but plugs are diff, the above harnesses are needed.

The problem will be mounting the unit, all tegs use a rear mount system, pocket is mounted to HU and the pocket and HU are held in dash with 2 8mm machine screws that go through the rear support bracket into a "lip" on the bottom back of the HU, most newer Honda/Acura are using an "ISO" system, 4x8mm machine screws, [2 on each side] going through a bracket into the side of the HU. 94

fcm, most of the tegs that are 00-01 if not all that I have worked on had the older style harness like the 88's thru 97 style plugs. My 01 py itr has the older style. weired huh. And I seen new 00-01 tegs with the new style too.

Best Buy, Circuit City, or most any other car install/retail shop.

The reverse plugs can ONLY be purchased at Best Buy, not Circuit City. But you could probably find them on ebay.

If you get a OEM unit with theft lock, MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH THE SECURITY CODE. There is basically no other way to get the code because the dealership wont give it to you unless you have the exact car that the radio came out of.

I had them in my bay when I was there. Not sure if they have them now. We would charge people a arm and a leg to replace there factory one if it was cut off. Then sell them right harness for there car. More money, more money, more money<-in living colure skit. Even thou I could of just put the aftermarket radio harness in its place.

It was explained to me this way, by my local Acura dealer, Honda had a very large over stock of the dash harnesses for pre 00 tegs, the teg was going to be discontinued so they used them up. 94

Any single DIN unit will work, with the exception of the '96-98 Civic decks.

But, when your pioneer does break, do you get a new one within a week??? And, does pioneer have one of the best security options on current cd players?? Does pioneer have 8V pre-amp outputs??? Or even a high end deck with copper chassis and no deck power for some of the best sound quality??
No!
No!
No!
and
No!

This is not going to be an eclipse vs. pioneer thread, because pioneer doesn't even come close if your looking for sound quality. But, if you do want cool little dolphins swimming on your screen, then so be it.

First this is not going to be a thread like that. And no you don't need 8 volts to have a good sound system. And no they don't have no security system. Neither do the alpine f1 and its still a great unit. Who cares about a copper chassie. As long as it performs to what is was design to do. And yes if you stick with a cool dealer you can have a new unit swapped out for a new right there on the spot. I do it all the time being a dealer. If its pioneer at fault for breakage and I have a extra. I'll swap it for a new right there on the spot. And if its a customer fault and its minor I do the same or take it straight to pioneer and give the customer a loaner and turn around is about 1-2 days. Can't beat that. And oyea, they don't have to have dolphins. You can upload what ever you want now. And stock they come with 10 diffrent screen saver

it doesn't have 8V preouts, but it really doesn't matter when you have the separate p9 processor next to your amp with a short run of rcas.

no dolphins either.

I not dissing the other company because they do have some cool radios with good features. No company just flat out sucks. Unless your boss or pyle, lol. You just can't just post that pioneer flat out sucks without posting some info to stand on.

Just say pioneer is not the company of my choice.

This thread is not going where it was intended to, pioneer makes good stuff, so does boss and audiovox, whatever... Just talking smack, because everyone has their own favorite thing.

For best SQ an aftermarket HU would be the way to go, however you can get very good results with stock HU and a CleanSweep, there are a couple other options, take the stock HU to a car audio repair shop and have a tech install a set of RCA pigtails from the preamp section of the HU, I have had this done a number of times, for exactly the same reason, customer wanted to keep stock HU
If the stock look is for security reasons only then a custom install of your favorite brand of HU and a dummy plate made from a stock HU will give you the best of both, stock look when HU not in use and better SQ when HU in use. 94
