Default Clearing an o2 CEL

i have a omni power straight pipe on my 2.2CL (for sound, not performance) and obviously i a CEL popped up because my o2 sensors arent plugged in. its killing my gas mileage and im runnin a litte rich, hence the carbon stain on my rear bumper. what is the best way to get the car running better and clear the CEL.

Wait, you don't have the first O2 sensor plugged in either? You NEED the first sensor, as it reports the air/fuel mixture to the ECU. The primary O2 sensor bung should still be there since it has nothing to do with the catalytic converter, so plug that sucker back in. For the rear (secondary) O2, you'll need to either install a functioning cat, use an electrical O2 simulator, or use spark plug defoulers (aka mechanical fix). You can do a search for "spark plug defouler" to learn more about the mechanical fix. Neither the O2 simulator nor defouler are guaranteed fixes.

Yes, it should eliminate most of your problem. If the ECU thinks the primary O2 sensor isn't working right, it starts to dump more and more fuel into the mixture. The primary O2 sensor is absolutely necessary for an engine to run well.

You will still have a CEL for the secondary O2 sensor. This code will also cause your ECU to richen the fuel mixture, but very gradually and not to the same extent as with the primary O2 sensor. You'll need to do 1 of the 3 things I suggested in my previous post.
